“I’ve been struggling with my body for as long as I can remember. I’m not “overweight” (whatever this means) by any stretch, but my father was always concerned about my weight - he would remark if he felt I had “gotten fatter” and would make me run/exercise regularly all throughout my teens. I have a lot of self-hatred about my body - but I am trying to build new rituals around it and begin to love its softness and its embraces too.”
